Thank you, Valentino.

Thank you, Valentino.

They did it again! As you all might have gathered, I am really loving Valentino lately. Somehow the designs by this rather unstoppable designer duo of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli seem to get better and better. It is just so, so beautiful. All of it.

For the many of us who were nott able to attend this show, you can watch a beautiful video of the runway show here. I highly encourage you watch the video if you have the time. It is really a nice way to appreciate the art that this duo produce.  At least until we can all go fawn over it when it hits the boutiques.

This collection really began to sing when they showcased their truest couture talents. The craftsmanship is incredible as are the details. The pleats, the embroidery, the richness of it all.

The black and white graphic pieces they showed seem to form a more wearable, and thus (I guess) more commercial, offering. The designs that feature prints on them are where they impress me the most. I am totally in love with the feather print on some of these dresses.

There are so many gorgeous prints as well as elements in this collection. Creativity, craftsmanship, cool. I can’t wait to see what they do next!

Lastly, I do have to add one little, slightly negative thing about the show. It threw me a bit. I was not the biggest fan of the whole Zoolander situation at the end. Did you hear about that? The whole event seemed to overshadow the collections press coverage. I guess any press is good press? The shows have become a real celebrity circus as it is. Anyway, I guess the attendees and many others loved the surprise.
