A Roman and Williams Brooklyn Townhouse Project

A Roman and Williams Brooklyn Townhouse Project

This image takes my breath away. Roman and Williams is the interior design firm behind this gorgeous room which itself lives in a blissful townhouse in Brooklyn they designed. I have been a long time fan of RW for many reasons. The biggest reason being their incredible use of old and new, and creating spaces with real integrity and character. Yes, they have a distinct style and I can spot their work instantly, but perhaps that is because there are so many of my favorite places in NYC designed by them.

For this townhouse project, RW was asked by the new owners to rework the townhouse so that it felt like it was finished early in the previous century. They had to bring back a lot of  its original details and remove the contemporary finishes that the previous owner had put in. Using richly colored paint and wallpapers, combined with some incredible antiques as well as custom furniture, it all blends seamlessly. They did a stunning job, didn’t they?

Those stools are divine but I think the rug is my favorite piece in the room.
