House of Brinson: Best of Hudson, NY

House of Brinson: Best of Hudson, NY

I began following House of Brinson some time ago because their Instagram feed was just too beautiful. It’s the type of feed that absolutely deserves the following it has because the pictures are so warm, so beautiful, so cozy. The talented husband and wife duo behind the amazing website and Instagram is Susan and William Brinson, both fabulous photographers who ditched city life for a beautiful old estate in the Hudson Valley. Upon discovering them, I felt like we must be kindred spirits because of our mutual love of dark painted walls and old, unique houses, and letterpressed business cards. Since starting their amazing blog in 2012, it has become the place to go for amazing recipes, restoration and design tips, as well as gems from other friends and makers in the area. I just love the way they capture country living in such an effortlessly chic way. They really do have a fantastic eye, which is why I just had to ask them to give us their picks for Hudson, NY in this week’s Interior Dialogue. I am so pleased they accepted.

I consider scent a big part of getting dressed! 2Note Perfumery in Hudson, NY makes one of my favorite scents, Nocturne. This scent is rich and layered, perfect for winter. The store is a complete experience, and has a wonderful staff that can guide you along the way. If you suffer from dry skin during the winter months – the body oil is another favorite.

For cocktails and dinner we love Fish and Game in Hudson NY. Swanky, tactile and textured with history, this is a favorite spot to be indoors during the winter. The food is creative and earthy, masterfully accomplishing the perfect combination of elevated and familiar at the same time.

We get cabin fever like crazy during the winter. In the beginning of the winter it’s great to be snugged up at home, but then we want to get out. We like stopping by the Hasbrouck House for cocktails and snacks. Not only is it a beautiful location that’s decorated to perfection, we always meet interesting people at the bar. If you want to get out of your house and enjoy a bit of company and luxury, the Hasbrouck House bar is the spot to go.

Hands down Kabinett and Kammer. If I could buy everything in this shop, I would. I love the concept of the curiosity cabinet, and this shop is filled with inspiring visuals. It’s a beautiful day trip if you want to see more of the Hudson Valley.
