My readers already know that I’m obsessed with the beautiful photographs of Paulette Tavormina, so it brings me great joy to see that she’s teamed up with the equally amazing Chef Mark Ladner for the Del Posto cook book, which is available November 1st. Hey, that’s today!
I just love the way Paulette is able to capture to food in all of its glory, almost as much as I love the amazing meals conceived of my Del Posto head chef Mark Ladner, so what could be better than a book of Del Posto classics, shot by Paulette?
The idea behind Ladner’s cooking is to bring traditional Italian classics to the American palette. And with recipes like Fragment Fried Calamari with Spicy Caper Butter Sauce, Red Wine Risotto with Carrot Puree, Monkfish Piccata, Veal Braciole, and Ricotta-Chocolate Tortino, it doesn’t seem like it should be too tough!
What I love about this cook book, is that it is filled with the lush, beautiful feeling of the Italian country side, offering not just recipes to replicate, but a whole experience to attain. It reflects perfectly the atmosphere that Ladner, along with partners Mario Batali, Joe Bastianich, Lidia Bastianich have achieved with their award wining restaurant.
And for those of you looking for a taste of Del Posto, be sure to catch Mark Ladner at Eataly downtown, where he will be doing a cooking demo on November 4th. I’ll be there taking notes – I can’t wait to cook up some of these instant classics for my own family. Ok, that’s not true. I can’t cook very well at all. What I will then likely do is grab some takeaway from Eataly…and a fresh copy of this book!
